OUR BELIEFS

The word and worship will be governed and based upon and at all times will be consistent with the following creed and beliefs

The Scriptures

The Bible is God’s written Word. The process that God used to give us His Word is called inspiration, which means,  God-breathed. The Word of God is without error and is truth. It tells us who God is, why He loves us, and what His plans are for us. The Bible is ‘the authority’ or standard for living our lives according to God’s will for us.

Psalm 119:105, 160; John 17:17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

The Godhead

There is only one true God. He is the Creator of all life and the Supreme Ruler of the universe.

He has always been (He is eternal) and co-exists equally in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is God's only Son and was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, taught the truth, performed miracles, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is seated at God's right hand.

Genesis 1:26-27; Matthew 3:13-17; John 3:16; Romans 1:19-20; Ephesians 4:6

THE FALL OF MAN

Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. Man's lost condition, makes it necessary to have a new birth.  That new birth comes through repentance and the belief in the Jesus Christ and His precious Blood

(Romans 5:12, Romans 3:23, Romans 10:9-11. I John 3:8

New birth and eternal life

Man’s first step toward salvation is repentance.  Salvation is called being born again (having a new birth).  When we become saved, born again,  we receive eternal life.

When God created us, He created us with a soul which will never cease to exist.

Those who choose Jesus, will spend eternity with God in Heaven.

Those who reject Jesus by refusing to follow Him will spend eternity in Hell.

Heaven, like salvation and grace, is a gift of God.

Hell is the due consequence for those who have not accepted God’s offer of forgiveness. Heaven and Hell are real places.

Luke 16:19-31; John 14:1-6; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15

Water Baptism

Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. When Christians are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.

The following is a recommendation regarding the Water Baptismal Formula:

"On the confession of your faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority, I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, Amen”.

Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Acts  8:36-39, Colossians 2:12

THe Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and God the Son, as God.

Following conversion we believe there is a secondary experience apart from conversion, also known as the “baptism of the Holy Spirit”. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives the ability to speak.

We believe that signs and wonders, as well as all the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in the New Testament, are operative today, and are designed to testify to the gospel, edify the Church to maturity, and supernaturally empower the church to fulfill and carry out her calling and ministry on earth.

Matthew 3:11-17; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4, 4:29-30; Romans 8:9; 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22;

Laying On Of The Hands

A simple belief that power or anointing or any other necessary quality can be transmitted by one person touching another. Laying on of hands was practiced by the Levitical Priesthood, Jesus practiced it as a blessing, and is our ground for Baby Dedication instead of Baptism.

iMark 10:13-16

Laying on of Hands for healing.

Mark 5:22-23 41, Mark 5:28-31, Acts 28:8, Acts 19:11-12

Laying on of Hands to confer Office.

Acts 6:2-6

Laying on of Hands to receive the Holy Ghost.

Acts 8:8-16

Laying on of Hands to believe words spoken, to receive anointing, and to cultivate the anointing.

I Timothy 4:14

Laying on of Hands for Ordination to Consecrate and receive the necessary ministry tools.

Acts 13:3

Sanctification

The Bible teaches that without Holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation.

Hebrews 12:14, I Thessalonians 5:23, II Peter 3:18, II Corinthians 3:18, I Corinthians 1:30

Resurrection Of The Just

And The COming Of The Lord

We believe the church will be caught up at the Rapture and His coming is imminent. When He comes, "The dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air"

Acts 1:11, I Thessalonians. 4:16-17

Following the tribulation which is right after the Rapture of the church, He willl return to earth as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords and together with His Saints, who shall be Kings and Priests, will reign a thousand years.

Revelations 20:6

Communion And Feet Washing

These sacraments are outward expressions of an individual’s commitment to live for Jesus Christ. We partake of the Lords Supper to show the Lord's death till He comes.

I Corinthians 11:23-31

The Bread symbolizes the Lord's broken body.

Isaiah 53:5, I Corinthians 11:24.

The Cup represents the New Covenant in His blood which provides us forgiveness and relationship with God.

Hebrews 9:11-28 , I Corinthians 11:25

We judge ourselves and realize that this blood is our salvation, and receive it

I Corinthians 11:28-30.

If we partake it unworthily, without giving it honor, we are guilty of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus.

I Corinthians 11:27

We practice feet washing because this is an example set by the Lord.

John 13:4-11

Tithing

We believe in tithing the tenth part of our first fruits and bringing our tithes into the storehouse. In this ordination to the church, we believe that by tithing that God Himself rebukes the devourer for our sakes, that our finances are not cursed but blessed. We believe that we are blessed by what we give. Those that give freely will receive freely, those that give grudgingly will receive grudgingly

Malachi 3:8-12

Hell And Eternal Retribution

He that physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or for repentance. The lake of fire is literal. The terms "eternal" and "everlasting" used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in the duration of joy and ecstasy of the saints in the presence of God

(Hebrews 9:27, Revelations 19:20)

Divine Healing

Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is given to us by the Power of God through the prayer of faith, and by laying on of hands. It is provided for us in the atonement of Christ, and it is the privilege of every member of the church today.

Mark 16:18, James 5:14-20, I Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53:4-5

Marriage and human sexuality

Marriage –  The sacrament of marriage is reserved only for a man and woman.

Genesis 1:27-28, Genesis 2:18-24, Matthew 19:4-9, Mark 10:5-9, Ephesians 5:31-33

Sexual Immorality – We believe that sexual acts outside marriage are prohibited as sinful.

The following acts are considered immoral; adultery, fornication, incest, bestiality, pornography, prostitution, voyeurism, pedophilia, exhibitionism, sodomy, polygamy, polyamory, or same-sex sexual acts.

Exodus 20:14; Leviticus 18:7-23; Leviticus 20:10-21, Deuteronomy 5:18, Matthew 15:19, Matthew 5:27-28, Matthew 15:19, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-13, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Hebrews 13:4, Galatians 5:19, Ephesians 4:17-19, Colossians 3:5

Sexual Identity – God created mankind in His image; male (man) and female (woman), sexually different but with equal personal dignity.

Consequently, you must refrain from any and all attempts to physically change, alter, or disagree with their predominant biological sex.

Genesis 1:26-28, Romans 1:26-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Sexual Orientation – We believe that God created and ordered human sexuality to the permanent, exclusive, comprehensive, and conjugal “one flesh” union of man and woman.

Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6, Mark 10:5-9, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Ephesians 5:25-27, Revelation 19:7-9, Revelation 21:2

Sexual Redemption – We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and should seek redemption through confession, repentance, baptism, and faith in Jesus Christ.

Consequently, members should welcome and treat with respect, compassion, and sensitivity all who experience same-sex attractions or confess sexually immoral acts but are committed to resisting sexual temptation, refraining from sexual immorality and conforming their behavior.

Matthew 11:28-30, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:1-10, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Hebrews 2:17-18, Hebrews 4:14-16

The Church

The Church

The Church is God’s spiritual family. It is made up of all those who have chosen to place their trust and faith in Jesus and who are His followers (disciples). The Church is not a building or one particular group of believers. To belong to the Church, is to belong to Jesus.

The Bible uses the analogy that Jesus is the Head of the Church, which is His body. God’s will is for the Church to gather regularly to worship its Head, Jesus, to use its various gifts and abilities to serve its Head, to love and encourage those who are in the body, and to work diligently to maintain the unity of the body.

As the members of His Church love one another and maintain unity of purpose and relationship, the world around us will recognize that we belong to Jesus. The Church or body is to seek to do the will of God, which includes making and growing followers of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 16:15-18; John 17:20-23; John 13:34-35; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Peter 2:4-10
